Priscilla, Aquila and Apollos Preschool Lesson
Preschool lesson (ages 3–6, 20 minutes)
1. Welcome (3 min)
Sit in a circle, greet every child by name and show one thing from the story to touch.
2. The little story (5 min)
Teach the refrain first: “Priscilla and Aquila worked together for Jesus.”
Paul came to the big city of Corinth. There he met a man named Aquila and his wife, Priscilla. They had just come from Italy. The ruler of Rome had sent all the Jewish people away from the city. So Priscilla and Aquila had to move. They found a new home in Corinth.
Priscilla and Aquila made tents. People needed tents for trips and for living in. And guess what? Paul made tents too! So Paul lived with them, and they worked side by side.
Can you pretend to sew a tent? Pull the thread, pull the thread. Now stretch the cloth out wide! Priscilla and Aquila worked together for Jesus.
Every day of rest, Paul went to the meeting house. He told people about Jesus. Then Silas and Timothy came to Corinth too.
One night the Lord spoke to Paul in a vision. “Don’t be afraid, but speak and don’t be silent; for I am with you.” So Paul stayed in Corinth for a year and a half. He taught God’s word to many people.
Then Paul sailed away on a ship. Priscilla and Aquila went with him! They came to the city of Ephesus. Paul went on, but Priscilla and Aquila stayed there. Priscilla and Aquila worked together for Jesus.
One day a man named Apollos came to Ephesus. He came from a big city in Egypt. He was a great speaker. He knew God’s word very well. He taught about Jesus with a warm and eager heart.
But Apollos did not know everything yet. He only knew about the baptism of John the Baptist. John washed people in water when they wanted to turn back to God. He had not heard the whole story yet.
Apollos spoke bravely in the meeting house. Priscilla and Aquila heard him. What do you think they did? They took him aside, away from the crowd. They told him about the way of God even better. They were kind teachers. Priscilla and Aquila worked together for Jesus.
Then Apollos wanted to go to another land. The friends of Jesus cheered him on. They wrote a letter to the friends there. It said: please welcome him!
Apollos went. He was a big help to the friends of Jesus there. He showed from God’s word that Jesus is the Christ.
Let’s count the helpers in this story. Priscilla, Aquila, Paul, Apollos: one, two, three, four! And God was with them all.
Later, Paul wrote about Priscilla and Aquila in his letters. He called them “my fellow workers in Christ Jesus.” He said they had even put their own lives in danger for him. They were very brave friends.
Paul said that he gave thanks for them. And not only Paul. All the churches gave thanks for them too!
A church met in Priscilla and Aquila’s house. The friends of Jesus met there together. Priscilla and Aquila opened their home to them.
God used two tent makers to help many people know Jesus. God can use every helper, big or small. Priscilla and Aquila worked together for Jesus.

Meet a kind tent-making couple who welcomed Paul, then took a clever preacher aside and gently helped him learn even more about Jesus.
Talk about it
- What was the job of Aquila and Priscilla? — Tent-makers
- In which city did Paul meet the couple? — Corinth
- Which traveler came and stayed with them? — Paul
- What did Paul also know how to do? — Make tents
- Where did Paul teach every Sabbath in Corinth? — In the synagogue
- Where did the couple sail to next? — Ephesus
Where is Jesus in this story?
Apollos taught about Jesus, but he knew only the baptism of John (Acts 18:25). John the Baptist himself had pointed to Jesus and said, “He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit” (Mark 1:8). Priscilla and Aquila helped Apollos see the whole picture of what Jesus came to give. The more you learn about Jesus, the more there is to love.
What God wants to tell us
God shows us that we do not need to be famous or loud to do something wonderful. Priscilla and Aquila were ordinary tent-makers, but they opened their home, listened well, and helped others gently. When we correct someone, we can do it with love and quiet respect, just like they did with Apollos. God can use every one of us, no matter how small or ordinary we feel, to help His family grow.
Prayer
Thank You, God, for kind friends who help me learn about You. Please help me open my heart, share Your love gently, and be a good helper in Your family, just like Priscilla and Aquila. Amen.
