The Throne Room of Heaven Preschool Lesson

Preschool lesson (ages 3–6, 20 minutes)

1. Welcome (3 min)

Sit in a circle, greet every child by name and show one thing from the story to touch.

2. The little story (5 min)

Teach the refrain first: “All of heaven was singing praise!”

John, the friend of Jesus, was on the island of Patmos. God showed him wonderful things there. One day John looked up. He saw a door open in heaven! A voice like a trumpet spoke. “Come up here. And I will show you the things which must happen after this.”

There was a throne in heaven, and God sat on it. He shone like bright jewels, clear and red. Around the throne was a rainbow, green like an emerald. Can you draw a big rainbow in the air?

Around the throne were twenty-four more thrones. On them sat twenty-four elders in white clothes, with golden crowns. Lightning flashed. Thunder rumbled. Boom! In front of the throne was something like a sea of glass. It was clear as crystal.

Four living creatures were there. One was like a lion. One was like a calf. One had a face like a man. One was like a flying eagle. Each one had six wings.

Day and night they never stopped. They said this. “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God, the Almighty. Who was and who is and who is to come!” Holy means pure and good and like no one else. Can you say it with them? Holy, holy, holy! All of heaven was singing praise!

The elders bowed down before God. They laid their crowns before the throne. They said, “Worthy are you, our Lord and God, for you created all things!” Worthy means God should get all the praise. He made everything!

Then John saw a scroll in God’s right hand. It had writing inside and outside. It was sealed shut with seven seals. A mighty angel called out. “Who is worthy to open the book, and to break its seals?”

But no one could open it. No one in heaven or on the earth. John cried and cried.

One of the elders said, “Don’t weep. Behold, the Lion who is of the tribe of Judah has overcome.” The Lion of Judah is a name for Jesus.

Then John looked, and he saw a Lamb standing by the throne. The Lamb is Jesus too. He had died for his people, but now he was standing, alive! The Lamb came and took the scroll.

The four creatures and the elders bowed down before the Lamb. Each one had a harp. Can you strum a harp? Each one also had a golden bowl full of incense. Incense smells sweet when it burns. The incense is the prayers of God’s people!

They sang a new song to the Lamb. They sang that he had brought people to God. They came from every land and every language. All of heaven was singing praise!

Then John heard many, many angels. Thousands and thousands! Too many to count! They sang with a loud voice, “Worthy is the Lamb!”

Every creature in heaven, on the earth, and in the sea sang too. “To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be the blessing!” All of heaven was singing praise!

And the four living creatures said, “Amen!” Can you say “Amen” with them? Then the elders bowed down and worshiped.

God is on his throne. And your prayers rise up to him like sweet incense. All of heaven was singing praise!

3. Talk together (3 min)

4. Move (3 min)

Refrain Freeze: move around the room; when you say the refrain, everyone freezes and says it together.

5. Make (4 min)

Color the 4 living creatures: a lion, a calf, a face like a man, and an eagle.

6. Verse and prayer (2 min)

“Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God, the Almighty” — Revelation 4:8 (Holy, holy, holy → clap three times; the Lord God → point up high; the Almighty → show strong arms)

Dear God, you are holy and you made all things. Thank you for Jesus, the Lamb. Amen.

Lesson for older kids (ages 6–10)

Big idea: God is King of everything

Memory verse: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God, the Almighty, who was and who is and who is to come!” — Revelation 4:8 · WEB

The Bible story

Step through a shining door into heaven, where John sees a dazzling throne, singing creatures, and a gentle Lamb who alone can open God's sealed scroll.

Talk about it

  1. Where was John when God showed him heaven? — On the island of Patmos
  2. What did John see standing open in heaven? — A door
  3. What was in the very middle of heaven? — A shining throne
  4. What curved around the throne like a ring of light? — A rainbow
  5. How many older friends of God sat around the throne? — Twenty-four
  6. What did the four creatures sing day and night? — Holy, holy, holy

Where is Jesus in this story?

The gentle Lamb that John saw is Jesus. He is called the Lion of Judah because he is strong and the winner over everything, but he came as a Lamb because he gave his own life to rescue us. Because Jesus loved us so much, he alone was worthy to open God's scroll, and now he lives forever as our King. When we trust him, we get to be part of the happy song heaven sings.

What God wants to tell us

This story shows us that God sits on the highest throne, and all of heaven loves to sing to him. He is holy, kind, and stronger than anything we could ever be afraid of. Best of all, the gentle Lamb was the only one good enough to open God's scroll, reminding us that God's plan is safe in loving hands. Whenever the world feels big or a little bit scary, we can remember that our King is on his throne, watching over us with a heart full of love.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank you that you are the King on the highest throne, and that you are holy and full of love. Thank you for Jesus, the gentle Lamb who rescued me. Help me to sing to you with a happy heart and to trust you when things feel big. I love you. Amen.

🔎 SEO-Konzept

Obwohl die Seite eine JavaScript-App ist, ist sie für Google & Social-Bots vollständig lesbar — durch server-seitiges Rendering der Meta-Daten.

On-Page & Inhalt
★
Server-seitige Meta pro Story: story-meta.php backt Title, Description & Canonical direkt ins HTML — Google und Link-Vorschauen (WhatsApp, Facebook, X) sehen die richtigen Daten, auch ganz ohne JavaScript.
★
Jede Story handoptimiert: SEO-Title (≤60 Zeichen, Keyword vorn), Meta-Description (~155 Zeichen) und passende Keywords — nach festem Regelwerk erzeugt.
★
Einzigartiger Inhalt: jede Geschichte ist eigens geschrieben — kein Duplicate Content, kindgerechte Sprache, klare Überschriften-Struktur.
★
Technik, Rich Results & Mobile
★
Crawlbar ohne JS: ein <noscript>-Block listet alle Geschichten als echte Links — Crawler ohne JavaScript finden trotzdem jede Seite.
★
