Baby Jesus Is Born
Luke 2:1–20 · Tiny Bible Story for ages 2–4
Everyone goes to their own town. Mary and Joseph go to Bethlehem. Step, step, step!
Baby Jesus is born! Mary wraps him in cloths. Snug, snug, snug. Wrap the baby: snug, snug!
There is no room for them. Mary lays him in a manger, the animals’ food box. Baby Jesus, lying in the manger. Point to the manger!
Out in the field, it is night. Shepherds watch their sheep. Baa, baa! Where are the sheep?
An angel comes! God’s light shines all around. Bright, bright, bright! Make your fingers sparkle!
The angel says, “Don’t be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy.” Flap your arms like wings!
“You will find a baby,” says the angel. Baby Jesus, lying in the manger. Where is the baby?
Many, many angels praise God. “Glory to God in the highest, on earth peace!” Lift your arms up high!
The shepherds say, “Let’s go to Bethlehem.” They hurry, hurry, hurry! Hurry, hurry! Run, run!
They find Mary and Joseph. They find the baby. Baby Jesus, lying in the manger. Point to Mary and Joseph!
The shepherds tell everyone about the baby. They praise God. Hooray! Clap, clap! Praise God!
Mary keeps all this in her heart. Baby Jesus, lying in the manger. Rock the baby: shh, shh.
Prayer: Thank you, God, for baby Jesus. Amen.
For grown-ups: Whisper on the baby pages and lift your arms high with the angels. Let your child find baby Jesus. Ask: “Who comes to see the baby?”
